President Bush's approval rating is now at an all-time low of 44%. Compare that with President Clinton's approval rating of 73% directly after he was impeached. If anything though, this speaks of the ineptitude of the Democratic political machine as we were unable to beat this man back in November. Sad.

I'm not sure I would attribute Bush's victory in 2004 to the ineptitude of the Democrats, but rather the ability of Rove and company to effective divide and really scare the country into voting for Bush. While there were numerous campaign mistakes made by Kerry, including not responding in a more swift manner to the "Swift Boat" attacks (pun intended), I think that ultimately the Democrats found themselves on the unpopluar side of some very important issues in this election.
